engagement (29%) is again down on the 2013 figure.
To be truly cross-functional and cross-business, SRM will rely on the support and engagement of all those who interact with suppliers on a day-to-day basis. SRM is not a procurement initiative but it is a business change programme with a very large footprint. Figure 2.3 shows that the level of engagement with business and operational stakeholders across all respondents appears to have worsened since 2013, with only 51% indicating at least moderate support and engagement. Figure 2.4 analyses leaders, fast followers and followers and shows stronger engagement, with an average of around 80% reporting at least moderate engagement. Although the number reporting strong and active
The industry sector perspective for engagement and support from business and operational stakeholders reveals that once again the automotive sector heads the list ( figure 2.5 ). Opinion in the public sector seems polarised, with almost the same proportion of respondents reporting strong and active support, and some resistance.
