PAPASTRATOS An affiliate of Philip Morris International The leading tobacco company Philip Morris International (PMI) established its leading position in Greece following the merger with PAPASTRATOS CMC SA, the largest tobacco manufacturing company in Greece, in 2003. PMI was already present for many years in Greece through PM Hellas. The company’s portfolio includes some of the most successful international and Greek brands. In 2009, Philip Morris International inaugurated in Greece one of its most modern factories in the world which represented an investment of over €100 million. The role of procurement at Philip Morris has evolved during the past few years and become more critical than it used to be. Its Procurement Manager, Aggeliki Davou, talked to us about the four pillars of the function’s strategy and how these have been put into practice to help the company respond to the economic downturn.
