We believe that there is a great opportunity for organisations to understand the benefits of eSourcing and start including it in their toolset. Companies that leverage eSourcing typically report great benefits not only in terms of cost savings (which can be significant), but also in process efficiencies, acceleration of the negotiation process, and higher levels of transparency and flexibility. If there is perception that eSourcing is not suitable, then the challenge is to apply the correct type of eSourcing initiative to disprove this. If suppliers are reluctant to participate in your eAuctions, then the challenge is to eliminate any misunderstandings and communicate the benefits to the supplier (including transparency in the negotiation, visibility of their position in the market, and so on). And if there is lack of knowledge internally, why not organise learning breakfasts or more formal training sessions?
