Within the scope of this survey, we did not analyse the use of technology to enable supplier management in greater detail. But our general view, gained from working with numerous large companies and from State of Flux’s annual SRM survey since 2009, indicates clearly that most organisations do not currently have an integrated technology solution that enables them to conduct contracts management, performance management and relationship management in a seamless way. The positive views on the technology support for supplier management among Greek organisations are probably due to the fact that the majority have ERP systems in place. While these systems are good at handling the operational side of supplier management, however, they are less effective in enabling activities in more strategic and collaborative areas such as innovation, joint projects, two-way visibility of business information and relationship quality assessments.
