CASE STUDY / YONDR

ADVERT / COVID

Y ONDR GROUP WAS FOUNDED in 2019 to create, own and operate hyper-scale data centres. These infrastructure facilities help to meet the massive increase in demand for cloud and digital services experienced across the world. The company, which was established by a group of industry leaders, most of whom now make up its executive team, was on a tight schedule to set up processes and scale its operations globally.

management roadmap? Need a supplier

New beginnings

The challenges were immediate. Having never filed an annual report, the business had limited credit history, and was experiencing a number of challenges to contract for data-related materials such as generators and other hardware systems.

GETTING IT RIGHT FIRST TIME

As the Head of Procurement and Risk for a new startup business, Anna Williams was able to follow best practice from the get-go, despite a challenging timeframe.

Meanwhile, suppliers were demanding upfront payments, creating a number of bottlenecks for the new company. When Anna Williams joined, she had little more than five months to get her head around the set up of the business and get the ready for launch. “It was a very short time to make an impact,” says the Head of Procurement and Risk. “Even though we were moving some of the existing supply chain from our sibling company, we needed to ‘Yondrise’ it. We were a new organisation, with new operating systems, new people and ideas. “We got new financial ERP and vendor on-boarding systems, set up health and safety policies for vendors, showed them how to invoice us and all about our new processes and procedures.”

If you need a clear roadmap on how to accelerate delivery of value from your supplier relationships, increase transparency and manage risks, talk to us about the Supplier Management Journey, we’ll show you step-by-step how to identify, protect, grow and deliver value quickly and sustainably.
