From 2012 through to 2014, more information is being shared with key suppliers than ever before ( figure 5.8 ). While performance information has retained its number one spot throughout (72%), other areas such as sharing supplier performance, company strategy, and demand and forecast have continued to rise. Across all areas leaders share more information with their key suppliers than other companies ( figure 5.9 ). Areas of differentiation for leaders appear to be company news that affects them, relationship strategy, innovation guidance, roadmaps and development plans – all relevant and forward-looking information. The relative importance and source of this information indicates that it is still internal business outcomes and facts that are the most important ( figure 5.10 ). It also shows the increasing role that third party sources of data have to play in augmenting supplier and company information.
